Why are the glasses called "Klammeraffe"? What special function do they have?

Our glasses are named after a species of monkey known for its long arms. These enable the monkeys to hang on effortlessly anywhere. And so do our glasses. Their longer, curved arms allow you to hang them comfortably around your neck when not in use. No more searching around, no more old-fashioned glasses chains.

Where does the “Klammeraffe” brand originally come from?

The brand „Klammeraffe“ has its roots in Germany, specifically in a small town near Munich.

It was founded by the company „New’s Optic Inh. Pamela Langer“, a family run business since 2005, specialized in the wholesale of ready-made reading glasses.
How do I keep my Klammeraffe Glasses in good condition?

Always clean with a microfiber cloth. In addition, the glasses should be stored safely in their case.

Cleaning with dish soap and/or other household cleaning agents should definitely be avoided.
What are ready-made reading glasses?

Ready-made reading glasses (also known as "over the counter reading glasses" or "readers") are a pair of non-prescription pre-made glasses with simple magnifying lenses. They are designed to help people with presbyopia - a natural, age-related change in the eyes that makes it harder to focus in close-up objects, usually noticeable after the age of 40.

Key Characteristics:

  • Standardized Lenses: Both lenses have the same magnification power, ranging from +1.00 to +3.00 diopters in 0.50 increments
  • Fixed Pupillary Distance (PD): The distance between the centers of the lenses are fixed.
  • Limited Customization: Ready-made reading glasses do not account for individual differences in: Prescription strength per eye, Astigmatism, Exact pupillary distance and eye alignment
For what do i need ready-made reading glasses?

Ready-made reading glasses are commonly used by people with presbyopia for reading. They are helpful when viewing small prints on labels, packaging, or medical instructions. Many people use them for close-up tasks such as sewing, knitting, or doing crafts that require visual precision.

They are popular as a pair of backup glasses to keep in placed live offices, handbags or travel bags, in case the wearers primary glasses are not available.

What are blue light glasses and what are their advantages?

Blue light glasses are eyeglasses with special lenses designed to filter out part of the blue light emitted my digital screens like computers, smartphones and TVs.

Advantages:

  • Reduce digital eye strain: They can help relieve tired, dry or irritated eyes after long hours on screens.
  • Better sleep quality: By blocking certain blue light in the evening, they may help reduce disruption to your natural sleep rhythm.
  • Fewer headaches: By easing eye strain and glare, they may help reduce screen-related headaches.
What protection do Klammeraffe sunglasses offer?

All our Klammeraffe sunglasses are category 3 and offer 100% UV protection.
They protect against bright light, making them the perfect companion for sunny days.

What is the return policy?

We have a 10-day return policy, which means you have 10 days after receiving your item to request a return.

Products must be returned in the same condition that you received it. This means the items must be returned in their original, unmarked packaging, including any additional items and tags, and remain in unused and original condition. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase. If hygiene measures are not , we reserve the right to refuse the return.

How can I request a return & refund for my order?

Process:

  1. Login to your account, click on "Orders" and request a return for your order. Alternatively contact us at „return@klammeraffe.ae" with your order details and the reason for return & refund.
  2. Our team will review your request and provide instructions for the next steps.
  3. We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or if we have to deduct a processing fee of 45 Dirham from the refund amount. You’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too. If more than 15 business days have passed since we’ve approved your return, please contact us at „return@klammeraffe.ae".

When will I get my order?

You will usually receive your delivery the next day, except for remote areas (3-4 days).
